CHARLES "CHIP" MCCREARY

Chip was born and raised in Shaker Heights, Ohio, a suburb
of Cleveland, Ohio. Upon graduation from Denison University
in 1976 with a degree in American History,
Chip worked for two Cleveland based executive search firms: Highland Partners
and Richard Johns and Associates.
In 1980, Chip joined Christian and Timbers,
Inc., today one of the largest executive search
firms in the US, as the first employee of the company in
Cleveland.
In 1985, he moved to Boston to establish an East Coast office for the firm.
In December of 1986, Chip voluntarily departed the firm and worked at Data
General Corporation as head of executive search during his enforceable one
year non-compete. In late 1987, Chip founded Austin McGregor International
(his kids' middle names).
In 1989, Chip moved to Dallas, Texas, where
Austin McGregor is now headquartered. His
client base has ranged from metal benders
to healthcare/medical
to consumer to high technology. Chip ranks
in the top 1% of
all retained executives recruiters in the
United States.
